Man City vs. Real Madrid: A Night of Missed Opportunities and a Tight Tie

City Edged in First Leg Draw

Silva, Foden and Gvardiol on Target for Citizens

Manchester City and Real Madrid played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg in Spain. Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Josko Gvardiol scored for City, while Karim Benzema netted a brace and Vinicius Junior also found the target for Madrid.

City started the game brightly and took the lead through Silva's superb strike in the 11th minute. Foden doubled the advantage just before the half-hour mark, but Benzema pulled one back for Madrid on the stroke of half-time. Gvardiol restored City's two-goal cushion early in the second half, but Vinicius Junior's goal in the 55th minute kept Madrid in the tie.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither could find a winning goal. The second leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, April 19, and Madrid will be confident of overturning the deficit and reaching the semi-finals.
