Bayern Munich Edge Arsenal Out of Champions League

Kimmich Strikes Bullet Header to Seal Progression

Arsenal's European Hopes Dashed

Arsenal's Champions League hopes were dashed on Wednesday night as they were knocked out of the competition by Bayern Munich. The Gunners went into the second leg of their quarter-final clash trailing 3-1 from the first leg, and they were unable to overturn the deficit.

Bayern took the lead in the 39th minute through Joshua Kimmich's bullet header. The German midfielder rose highest to meet a cross from Kingsley Coman and power the ball past Bernd Leno.

Arsenal were unable to reply after the break, and Bayern held on to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory. The win sets up a semi-final meeting with either Manchester City or Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal's elimination from the Champions League is a major disappointment for the club. They had been hoping to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2009, but they were unable to overcome a strong Bayern Munich side.

The Gunners will now have to focus on their remaining targets this season. They are still in contention for the Premier League title, and they will also be hoping to win the FA Cup.
