Brownsville child dead after being hit by vehicle

A one-year-old girl is dead after she was hit by a vehicle in Brownsville. State police said the girl was hit by a vehicle on Curry Hollow Road near Keenan Road just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

The girl was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Curry Hollow Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. The road has since reopened.
