9 Earthquakes Recorded in Indonesia in Past Week

A strong earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale has struck Argentina, approximately 51 kilometers north-northwest of San Antonio de los Cobres. The epicenter was located on the Salar de Arizaro salt flat, a sparsely populated area in the Salta province.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 04:39 UTC (11:39 PM local time) and was at a depth of 215 kilometers. Maps from the USGS earthquake database indicate that the tremor was felt across a wide region, including the cities of Salta, Tucumán, and Santiago del Estero.

While no immediate reports of major damage or injuries have been received, authorities are urging residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and adhere to safety protocols. The earthquake comes just days after a series of nine tremors with magnitudes greater than 5.0 were recorded in Indonesia within the past week.
